Project Description

The Henderson Police Station is sited adjacent to other community facilities in a future civic campus. The Station is designed to provide patrol officers with an efficient and convenient facility to support routine activities in a secure neighborhood environment.

The sophisticated character of the building and its architectural aesthetic clearly identify it as a civic building. Special measures were taken to ensure that the building complements and responds to the existing context, as well as the additional amenities, including the theater, library and multigenerational recreation center that was planned for the campus.

The primary mass of the building is of a highly textured, red concrete block, contrasted by dynamic accents of aluminum throughout the building at windows, canopies, awnings and facade panels. The architecture is clean, straightforward and simple, allowing the richness of the materials to be read and understood.
