Project Description

The UNLV School of Architecture was designed and bid in only 6 months to meet strict accreditation timelines and a tight budget.

The facility includes studio, lecture, facility office and display spaces, as well as a dramatic 2-story, high-tech multimedia library designed for heavy computer use. Interior spaces are designed to be as flexible as possible, facilitating anticipated changes in the curriculum, as well as the future needs of the department.

The building is a rectilinear plan with exposed masonry walls, storefront glazing, metal roof and sunshades, giving consideration to southern Nevada’s severe climate. An extended roof creates large protective overhangs at public entries and landscaped exterior courtyards.
